What I'm Up To
(Inspired by nownownow.com)
I'm always trying to keep myself busy, learning new things and making myself more efficient.
Here is a list of ongoing projects I'm working away on:
- I'm starting to use the Eurkey keyboard layout. It is the same as the QWERTY English-US layout unless you hit the right alt key, in which case you can type letters with accents for writing in French or other latin-character languages. It's a lot more convenient for me rather than changing layouts when I switch from programming to typing in French.
- I'm reading through (and completing the exercises of) Concrete Mathematics (2nd Edition) by Graham, Knuth and Patashnik. Currently on Chapter 3.
- While I run Arch Linux every day, I'm trying to make more of an effort to use tools like Awk, Sed, Grep, Find and Tmux. I love expanding my abilities!
- I'm learning and using shortcuts for the terminal, VS Code, Visual Studio and Vim.
- I'm building this website! I'm hoping to add dynamic animations and simulations to it soon!
- I want to continue developing my Raytracer written in Rust along with my other software projects.
- Relearning calculus and French every day
Some long term goals:
- Finish Concrete Mathematics
- I'm working with my friend Fayaz to bring InputLeap to Android. InputLeap is a GPL-ed KVM-over-wifi tool. It is a fork of Synergy that used to be called Barrier. If we manage this, this would allow Android tablets and phones to be treated as second screens by Desktop computers.
- I want to compile Linux From Scratch, following the steps from the popular book.
- I want to contribute to OpenGoal, which is an open source project that decompiles the Jak And Daxter games for the PS2 and recompiles them for x86.
